- Clarification requests on demographics.
- Curiosity related to the why the position of “associate/shareholder” was negatively correlated with career satisfaction.
- Discussion about harassment and discrimination. One attendee asked if we had identified the harassment source, such as the employee’s office, employer’s clients, or on a construction site.
- One of the survey findings indicated that non-whites were more likely to aspire to the principal level than whites. Attendees were curious as to why and if we had a breakdown of this statistic into other areas of correlation such as gender.
- Surprise regarding the findings related to advancement by gender. Findings indicate women are advancing more quickly than men for all positions, which is contrary to most other major surveys. One attendee asked if the survey responses could be extrapolated to the entire profession based on the number of female respondents in the survey.
- Discussion regarding the gender pay gaps, model of pay, and survey results indicating that women valued titles more than compensation.
Thank you to SEA-MW for inviting the SE3 committee to speak at your meeting.
