Rose McClure, S.E., LEED AP is a Senior Engineer in Simpson Gumpertz & Heger's Chicago office. She has ten years of experience on new and existing commercial, institutional and residential projects across the United States and Canada. She specializes in the analysis and design of foundation systems, and in the repair and rehabilitation of existing structures. Active within the AEC community, Rose is the current chair of the NCSEA SE3 Committee, member of the SEAOI continuing education (CE) and women in structural engineering (WISE) committees, member of the Chicago Building Congress, member of the SEI public relations committee, and past member and chair of several committees in SEAONC. Rose received a BS from Cornell University in 2008, and a MEng from MIT in 2009. In 2016, she was awarded the Giles Scholarship and the Edwin Zacher Award for her contributions to the community.

Natalie Tse, S.E., LEED AP is a Project Manager at Tipping Structural Engineers with a broad range of experience in educational, commercial, residential, and pharmaceutical sectors. Having lived and worked in the Bay area for more than 12 years, her portfolio includes the structural assessment, seismic retrofit and modernization of several existing school campuses, a new wood-framed cathedral over concrete podium, and mission critical lab and office buildings. Natalie is deeply passionate about innovative solutions, well-integrated and cost-effective designs, responsiveness during construction, and open communication. She is profoundly committed to learning, mentoring, building strong relationships, maintaining tight family bonds, and giving back to the community. She received her BSE in Engineering and Mathematics from Queen’s University in 2002. She was honored with the Edwin G Zacher Award for her contributions to SEAONC in 2017.

Angie Sommer, S.E. is an Associate at ZFA Structural Engineers, a 60-person firm in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she currently focuses on projects in the educational and senior living sectors. She is involved in a variety of industry organizations, including the San Francisco chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW SF), where she is currently the managing editor for the quarterly publication, The VIEW. She is the 2016-17 co-chair of the SEAONC Structural Engineering Engagement and Equity (SE3) Committee and was the lead author of the 2016 SE3 Survey Report, which can be found on the committee's website, SE3project.org.

Nick Sherrow-Groves, P.E. is a Senior Engineer at the San Francisco office of Arup, where he has worked since shortly after he graduated from UC Berkeley in 2010. During his time at Arup, he has worked on a wide variety of projects, from large-scale infrastructure projects like the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to small boutique projects like the SOAK (an urban bathhouse constructed out of shipping containers). Nick was a core member of the 2015-16 SE3 team, primarily involved in distribution for the 2016 survey, and is currently the 2016-17 committee co-chair.

Theresa Curtis, S.E. joined Thornton Tomasetti in 2006. She is senior associate in the firm’s structural Engineering Practice and brings extensive experience in structural analysis and design for new buildings as well as renovations and retrofits to existing structures. Her portfolio includes healthcare and education projects for private sector and local and state government clients.
Theresa is a licensed civil and structural engineer in California and a LEED Accredited Professional. She is also a Registered California Emergency Management Agency Safety Assessment Program Evaluator. Theresa earned her master’s in Civil Engineering from UC Berkeley and her bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Rice University in Houston, Texas. Theresa has published multiple articles and papers throughout the course of her career. |

Hayley Dickson, P.E. is an Engineer at Forell/Elsesser Structural Engineers in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a licensed civil engineer in the state of California, and earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Civil and Structural engineering from Santa Clara University. Since joining the firm in 2013, she has worked on a variety of new construction and retrofit projects in the higher education, government and corporate sectors. These projects have included a range of materials and analyses, including nonlinear and response spectrum analysis of concrete shearwalls, steel moment frame, buckling restrained braced frames, and base isolation. She is involved in several industry organizations, including EERI, SPUR, and SEAONC. This is Hayley's second year co-chairing the SEAONC SE3 committee.

Zahraa Saiyed, P.E., is a co-founder of Scyma Design + Consulting, a research associate with MIT’s Urban Risk Lab, and Adjunct Professor of Architecture and Community Design at the University of San Francisco. Zahraa’s work in disaster risk reduction includes projects with the Urban Risk Lab and the World Bank in Peru, Haiti and San Francisco. Zahraa is a promoter of seismic safety legislation and leads the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute's Public Policy and Advocacy committee and sits on the Resilience Education Working Group with the American Institute of Architects, and is a past Board Director of the Northern California Chapter of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute. In addition, she works with the City of San Francisco’s Earthquake Safety Implementation Program on shelter-in-place and building safety for post-disaster scenarios in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. Zahraa has lectured both domestically and internationally on the built environment and disaster risk reduction. In the past, she has in taught at Stanford University in the Geophysics department and at M.I.T.'s Civil and Environmental Engineering department. Zahraa holds a B.A. in Architecture from UC Berkeley, an M.S. in Building Technology and an M.Eng in Structural Engineering from M.I.T.

Brenna Marcoux is a design engineer at FTF Engineering in San Francisco. She is a licensed civil engineer in California, and earned her Bachelor’s from The George Washington University and her Master’s from UC Davis. She joined FTF in 2017, and has worked on a range of new construction and retrofit projects in high-end residential, multi-family, commercial, and aviation. Brenna joined SE3 in 2017 and worked on writing the SE3 Pay Report with data from the 2016 Survey. She was co-lead of the SE3 Mentorship sub-committee and helped start the SE3 Long-Term Mentorship program. Brenna is also involved in San Francisco’s ASCE YMF where she was on the board for the last two years. She is also a key contact with ASCE and participates in legislative advocacy for state and federal legislation. She was the 2019 Outstanding Engineer in Legislative Activities for ASCE San Francisco Section.

Rachel Cohen is an engineer at Forell/Elsesser Engineers. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Brown University and her Master’s degree from UC Berkeley, and is now a licensed civil engineer in California. Since joining F/E in 2017, Rachel has worked on a range of new design and retrofit projects within the higher education, healthcare, and civic sectors, and has gained experience in bringing projects from schematic design through construction. Rachel joined SE3 in early 2018. She co-led the Outreach & Communications subcomittee for the 2018-2019 year, helping to launch SE3’s quarterly newsletter and “Leadership in Action” blog. Outside of engineering, Rachel is an avid dancer, and enjoys cooking, running, and attending live music events.
