Kenneth O'Dell, S.E.
Partner, MHP

SESSION B1 THOUGHT LEADER

Ken O’Dell joined MHP in 1989. With over 25 years’ experience in structural engineering and risk management, Ken has been involved with and responsible for a number of significant projects including entire school campuses (K-12 schools as well as higher education facilities), major hotels, housing, civic projects, and commercial and retail structures throughout the western United States. Following the 1994 Northridge, 2010 Haiti, and 2013 Napa earthquakes, Ken provided on-site post event assessments, reported on observed structural damage, and developed reconstruction plans. These experiences are behind his passion for seeing structural solutions not in terms of building support, but rather in terms of lives impacted. His strong desire to look beyond the fine lines of engineering in providing solutions is supported by an equally strong commitment to quality, and dedication to all members of the project team including clients, architects, other consultants, and contractors.
